Gloss Black Eyebrow change to Matte in sun?

I bought a full set of new Matte black eyebrows over a year ago and just took them out of the packaging. Turns out the front Left one is gloss. As I was about ready to list that one for sale here, I pulled up on RN site the link for the item MRC9377 and below this is what I read...
EYEBROW LH FRONT GLOSS BLACK DEFENDER, RNE290, MRC9377 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts

NOTE: Genuine eyebrows appear gloss black when new. They quickly fade to the normal matte black after a few months, or less, with UV exposure. This gloss appearance often confuses customers when they receive their Genuine replacement eyebrow. "

My question here is, I bought this set from Lucky 8 and they are not "Genuine", they are Britpart. Anyone have experience with the Britpart gloss changing to Matte in UV exposure like RN describes? If not, then this part will be for sale pretty quickly. I really don't want to be driving around with all Matte and one gloss.

Hm...I doubt it. The matte wheel arches have a totally different surface from the glossy wheel arches.

The actual physical surface of the matte wheel arches is finely stippled.

I have the Matte version of the arches (same part number, britpart) and they started matte.

That is correct. They fade and become Matt w/ sun exposure. I have done this to at least 6 sets over the years.

I would see them fading but the texture and actual look I can't image would be the same as if they came matte to begin with. Why else would they make a gloss if within a couple months it just turns to matte.

I think I'll just list this one and buy the matte and solve the problem.

I'll make a separate post but I'll take $50 plus shipping to get it moved along for this new eyebrow.

Yes, they will turn matte quickly in the sun.

If they turn matte so quickly in the sun then what's the point of making them gloss to begin with if the end they are all matte within a month.
Not that I don't believe it but just doesn't seem to make much sense.

After a few months do the steel wheels turn into alloy wheels?

I must be out of my mind.

When folks on here are saying "they will turn matte" are they referring the mirror-smooth arches that the original poster posted, or are they referring the textured-molded arches that are "shiny".

There is a mirror-smooth eyebrow/arch and there is a textured eyebrow/arch. I'm sure the mirror-smooth arches will eventually dull out, but they will not become textured or vice versa.

The textured arches start out shiny, but definitely dull out over time.

So I guess to the original poster, I've attached the picture from the RN web site that shows what the shiny arch dulls out to.

Precisely. The one I got from Lucky 8 in my set is GLOSSY/mirror finish and zero texture. That's what I was curious about is if what those pics show from RN actually turn to what the other 3 I have currently, and I doubt it. I think regardless if they fade or not the texture you refer to won't be there in the end so IMO they won't match. Thus, the one I have is now listed and I'm ordering the Matte one that I should have received in the first place. My own fault for waiting so long to open new packages. I won't make that mistake again.

Anyone need a nice new shiny LH front eyebrow?

***Update-----Lucky 8 had it on file that the wrong part was added to my shipment and even though a good deal of time has past they are going to send me the correct eyebrow and I'm sending the gloss one back. Cheers to Lucky8.....those guys are always top notch!! **

Hmm, that's really weird. Mine are still glossy and could be over 20 years old. I guess they all don't fade.

That's very cool! Lucky8 is stand up! Were, was, and will be! Just another reason they are still in business, and hopefully thriving.
