meh i didn't care before 2007 (own a 2005 Jetta TDi) ... now the only hidden diesel pollutant I care about is the urea(piss) they inject into the exhaust

it's like the German's took the "blast it with piss" meme to heart

Yeah, but what I mean is it is coming to our 200/300Tdi vehicles. DEQ's are going to start requiring testing.

well the nice thing is in VA diesels manufactured after 1997 are required to be tested, and since the average state delegated emmisions tester classifies the car by its manufacture date and not the engine type those of us who might have been inconvenienced just have to make sure we find someone on the right side of "monkey smart"

I'm hoping most of the states are this way

The climate in Europe has over the last few years gone from pro diesel to massively anti diesel.
What is interesting is that Europe and US regulators are taking simultaneous action as a result of VW.
That's bad.
I hope Tdv6 is as clean as advertised. If not we'll never see it.

Which brings up the idea that VW probably isn't the only one doing this.

And about all of us? How many of us pick and choose the day, temp, and little bit of tweaks to try to get our cars past DEQ? Same exact thing VW did.... just not as cool.
