Gas Mileage

So I have been monitoring my gas mileage over the last few tanks and I'm consitantly getting 13.6 mpg...whether I take side streets to work, or take the freeway.
My commute is about 21 miles round trip.... guess I just have a lead foot.

I was wondering what you guys are getting on average.

I'm not disappointed with my mileage at all really, I would obviously like to get the mileage of the TDi but since it's not an option... I figure to have full time 4wd and the rarity of owning and enjoying a D90 is worth it.

I also ride my motorcycle 4 or 5 days out of the week to conserve gas.

I had a 91 YJ Sahara that got 15mpg, no full time 4wd.... the YJ was fun, but I really dig the defender.

16-17 in the 90 with street tires... And that's with the roof rack.

Cool! Thanks for the input... seems we are all in the same boat.

Yeah on my Disco2 I was getting more or less the same mileage as I get on my 90.

14 mpg or so with the Summer gas.
12 mpg with the winter stuff that has 10% Ethanol.

This is with a SW, roof rack, winch bumper/winch, all the heavy stuff. Tires are 235/85R16's.

i don't have a problem with the mileage, i just wished they had put a larger tank in the D... I'm thinking about putting a 20 gallon jeep tank in to get a few more miles between fills...

About 10-12mpg around town with street tires or swampers, it's an auto so mileage isn't great.

my DD is a 6spd dodge ram cummins and it gets about 16-19 around town with chip on level 3, and the best it's even had was 26mpg at 80mph with the chip turned to level 7 of 9. I love diesels and would love to have a TDI but the d90 isn't my DD anymore

ha ha, I hate you diesel guys! oh well... I guess I can't have it all.

I agree about the tank, my 91 YJ had the "optional" at the time, 20gallon fuel cell.
I always enjoying filling up the D90 vs. when I used to fill up my 02 DiscoII, because it costs less, even though the tank is much smaller, it's just nice spending $40 at a time... vs. $65, ha ha.

my FJ recieved a 20 gallon jeep tank, it was the most economical solution that would fit between the frame rails, we bought the tank with fuel pump for 350, nice part was the fuel pump work with the LT1 we had already bought... I wonder what gas mileage the defender would get with a LT1 tuned for torque and low end bruising...

11 in my 110 makes no difference whether city or highway, too much wind resistance from roll cage, lights, body shape etc.

1987 RR gets around 12 to 14 city and 16 to 20 hwy depending on speed and load. Both my old 2.5na diesel 110 and my current 2.5na diesel 90 got/get around 18mpg average.

You are being optimistic or you drive slower than mike and I. We got about 10mpg cross country.

Hey, Michael,
That motorcycle wouldn't happen to be a Duc, would it? Seems like I've run across some posts with the same user name in one of the Ducati forums. If so, I have to compliment you on your good, if not slightly masochistic taste in motorized transport!
