I have to say that the LR3 with 3rd row is a great option in my opinion. Ours has been great so far. We carry 7 people for two or three weeks per year (and a few random times throughout the year). Right now, 6 people + gears are in the OBX (7 would have required creative use of space for the gears! Or maybe I would have HAD TO buy a trailer... ).
Anyway, lots of loading space for 4-5 folks (necessary when you have young kids). Enough width to have two or three car/booster seats in the 2nd row.
If you know what gears you need to have in there, just take it all to a dealership and start loading! We did it and it just make sense.... That's an expensive guess otherwise!
That's why I started with my first question before volunteering that option! I wanted to make sure there was no reason the LR3 was not on the table.

Now, with an LR3 in the DC area (nationwide?) you will have the fun of dealing with the dealership who want you to do a ton of unnecessary work. Ask Charles about it. It becomes easier (a little) when truck is out of warranty since you will likely get your oil change done at a local Indy instead.

X2 on the LR3. The price point today is tempting. If you have time to hunt you can find them with sub 80k miles and under $10k.

If you didn't have the DC parking issue I'd be plugging Suburban. Our Burban has given us close to 200k miles with absolutely no issue. Fluids, tires and brakes is all she's asked for.

Strange issue with a truck I"m looking at. It's an '07 80 series out of NJ. Pulling the carfax shows it's initial sale in '07 and not one entry following that. Not a registration renewal, not a title event, nothing. I know carfax isn't exactly reliable, but no records at all?

You mean 100 series since it's an '07?

If possible, try running vin through toyota owners website. It will have dealer service records if previous owner serviced it there. Worth a shot.

Too bad. At least you can use it to track your hundy.
I was amazed how accurate it was. Verified previous owner's records kept on my '06. It even had info on mine, before it was ever sold to anyone. Apparently on delivery to the dealership it needed paintwork due to some damage during shipping I couldn't find any body work at all, so I guess it was very minor.

Here is the last of the solid front axles. This guy just took a job near my office. Wheels at Roush but has not heard of Gore.

Looks like I'm the proud new owner of a '97 lx450. Reasonable miles, very good service history and stock save 33s. Should get it in a week or two (I'm having some work done on it before getting it). Anyone want a good deal on a beater A4?
