I'm trying like hell to get myself banned from LR USA's Facebook page for trolling.

I just heard a loud sad sigh from all those who have been saying, "The next Defenders will be really cool and I'm waiting for it!"

Looks like a big Mini to me.

This is not a good thing...

Square it off a bit. Add the skylights back to the rear. And lose those ridiculous wheels.

And it'd still be ugly.

I think it looks awesome. Please make it. I will accept the fact that with this amazing design my current 90 will plummet in value. I think it is worth it to have this on the road.

Holy Shit, I remember seeing this back in the late 90's. It's the Defender "Vehicross"...Maybe they'll get a Cease and Desist letter from Isuzu.

I'm reminded of a quote by the great Richard Hammond "A Land Rover would never turn up to collect an Oscar, it'd be far too busy doing something important somewhere for someone". Somehow I'm not sure that applies here.

Thats what a Defender would look like if it had aids.

I am so glad now that I bought my Defender this year. I was really hoping they would want to build a true Wrangler competitor. I was wrong. Looks like I am keeping my money and putting toward my Defender instead of buying that, whatever that is.

Sorry Land Rover, you have lost a fan.

------ Follow up post added August 30th, 2011 05:50 PM ------

Guess what...You got it wrong!!!!

A few weeks ago, we reported on the huge responsibility Land Rover felt in replacing the Defender, with boss Colin Green telling Auto Express: “If we get it wrong, we are messing up one of the industry’s biggest icons.”

I guess Auto Express has their Kia ads directed at the correct market.

looking at the side pic, I think it has potential. Just flatten the front end up like the LR4, change out those bling wheels for some steelies on 35"s, and add some harder edges to the roof/roofline and it might not look so bad. Or maybe im just in denial.
