Frogs Island 4x4 110 Soft Tops

I know Frogs Island 4x4 has been brought up in the past because of the sweet cages they used to (and probably still) make. But, I ran across a 110 soft top they did the other day (TD5 I'm assuming), and must admit it looks pretty sexy. Anyone know more about Frogs Island? Sure, you can't see the actual cage (and I'm sure it's just metal that looks nothing like the NAS foamed ones), but the top looks not so bad, and they at least got some of the NAS concept down (and the gutter kit with the full SW doors look really nice). Anyway, thought I'd share.

Had a friend asking if anyone had done a 1986/87 110 updated with some more modern specs (TD5 dash and some other stuff) and then made into a ST for those who don't want to turn a NAS 110 into a ST, and who didn't want to use the NAS soft top cage(s) to do so.

All Wheel Trim in the Uk also makes some fun 110 Wagon to soft top bits.

Frogs Island made mine (first one they ever made) for my 110. Only a couple of miles from where i lived. Will be close by New Years Eve.

Just looked at my pics a little closer, and I don't like how the windows are velcro-in/out on the Frogs Island top...they need to be zips in my opinion. Jimmy, you mean they did your 110 external cage, right?

I also don't really like the boat-esque "snaps" but it's something that could probably be lived with. It looks like they did a really good job with the gutter kit, though.

Josh,

The military prefers Velcro over zippers because once a zipper fails it's done. I actually prefer zipper with a Velcro flap.

is it zipper and velcro? I can't tell from the pics...if so, then that's nice. I thought it was velcro only, which doesn't seem ideal.

It looks like Velcro only. When I make my cover for my truck in a couple weeks I will show you the zipper/velcro combo....

Yep. I will get you the fabric choices soon. I have a show next week where I will scout out fabrics but the highest quality material I have been able to find is $25 per yard and we need 7 yards for each truck. It has a 5 year warranty...

Frogs arn't too far from me, about 40 minutes. I pop in there sometimes if i need stuff and am working nearby.

Good place, but Allmakes own it outright, Eddie Priscott, the old MD, is now just a manager there (long story short, he owed money to Allmakes, a lot. so they took ownership)

they are a touch smaller - but you are able to roll up just the "window" part so that the top stays tight with the 3 windows rolled up!

------ Follow up post added October 21st, 2011 03:02 PM ------

and there is not too much canvas / window to roll and get bulky.

Keith it's the stock NAS cage under there I'm assuming? I remember Frogs Island had done a "clone" project years ago of the NAS 90, but I didn't know they had duplicated the dimensions of the cage, so that their tops were interchageable. Crazy.
