From everything we are hearing it is getting worse. Levees are breaking and the water is rising. Natural gas lines are blown in places, and threaten to erupt. Some buildings, like the NO Yacht Club, have burned.

A lot has to happen before reconstruction thoughts can start. Simply watching the expressions of our leaders here in LA tells the story in itself. The destruction is absolutely overwhelming. It will be weeks before the death toll will be sorted out, with people drowning in their attics.

The Starbucks I go to here in town was packed with evacuees. They had a double shift with a crew from NO. Imagine sitting in a coffee shop thinking you have no home, nowhere to go, and little to do.

I have a hard time imagining his shop is not flooded. At least this whole area will become a Federal reconstruction zone, with help for small business.

I'm confident that George is fine. The Rover parts may be moist, but at least they can be replaced.

My company has a mobile water treatment unit we've been thinking about shipping down there...anyone know who we need to contact?

Basically it's a bottled water maker.

Some of the news sites show flyover video of the yacht club. The boats look like floating dead fish clumped together.

I talked to the Red Cross today, they're supposed to call me back tomorrow to see if I'm going down or shipping down a water treatment unit. Evidently they might not have the infrastructure to even run the equipment people are trying to send down.

Tyler be safe (and try to find George).
