Wow that's weird. I wonder what's going on there. Is the Freelander just ROW and that's like our LR2? Must be something like that.

someone posted nearly the same thing on ExPo but saying it'd be rebadged as Defender? I'm more inclined to believe this story

That same photo albeit reversed was posted attached to an article on LR expansion of the Halewood factory to accommodate the new Freelander.

yeah, that "LR #" is a north america thing. The "LR3" and "LR4" are known as "Discovery 3" and "Discovery 4" elsewhere. The "LR2" is known as the "Freelander 2". Not sure who is the genius that came up with that numbering, but clearly, no "long term" plan was made when that decision was made....
