Not sure how thing work there, but here you would need to contact the police. They would investigate and determine the owner and be responsible for removing it from the public property if the owner does not.

I would definitely recommend contacting the police before moving this vehicle.

With all the controversy over this I'm wondering if i should not post the location. Several of you have brought up good points and I'm worried someone will just drag the rover out without proper clearance. I will contact the first person that PM'd me and explain that if they want to pull it out they should go about making sure it is done lawfully. Im wondering if perhaps this was the wrong section as well, it may have been more appropriate in a general discussion or MISC section.

This is like opening a semi full of flatscreen TVs during the Charlotte riots.

BRAB, JohnsD90, and I would be willing to dispose of the body, jump through the hoops and get in touch with the proper parties to make this happen **if it's possible.

I will get as much info for you as possible. When we find out the location a few calls could clear up the mysteries. In its condition it doesn't seem like it is valuable to someone if it isn't legally abandoned. I feel the worst case scenario someone wants $100 for it. I would imagine it is not a difficult process to resolve quickly. Hopefully it's on a nature preserve and a call to parks and rec will resolve.

The truck is so beautiful, everything is there and all windows intact.

I want to see this thing wiped off and on the road. Almost pretty enough as it is that I'd be tempted to get it mechanically sound and just polished off. New wheels would be a plus though. I'm glad you guys are as enthusiastic as I am. I posted this with good intentions. I'll do everything I can to help!

I'm no detective. But any "abandoned" vehicle on public land always fall prey to the vandals who jump all over it, smash the windows if its left anywhere longer than a couple of days. Unless of course this is Landy educated area where all respect is given to old Rovers.

Also, it looks like a road or a parking lot more than a trail. Not that it matters.
I would be guessing this is NOT public land and probably belongs to the owner of the property.

Yeah it's sitting on a pad of pavement under a very thin layer of leaves. Doesn't look like it's too far out of civilization. That's probably what some board members driveways look like

That truck looks exactly as the one a member here used to own.

Also, the picture looks EXTREMELY close to be taken off the entrance of Hermits Road ( years ago it was lawful to enter via that part, not sure if still is ) , that been said ......

Hey all—That Rover isn't abandoned. It's actually on my parents' (private) driveway.
My parents would sell it, though. PM me with any offers. Thanks.
