Freakn' Mantec

These things are getting tough to come by. Called Stable, he's out and not sure when they're getting any more. Rover Access is out too, and they're working on developing their own b/c the Mantec's are so hard to get and I guess tough to deal with.

I emailed a co in the UK, and they've got stock, but the exchange rate is a killer right now. 250GBP is just shy of $500. That includes shipping but damn. These things were $350-$400 a year ago!

Roversnorth had mine in stock in the fall. Got them to waive shipping because I also bought a new SW rear door from them as well.

Rovers North might be the one place where it is still cheaper to order from overseas, even with the exchange rate. RN has $514 listed on their page, plust shipping. Is that a big difference from what you paid in the fall Eric?

The number 399 pops into my mind. I'd have to look at the invoice to be truthful. I don't think I'd have bought it if it were over 400 though.

514 is overpriced to say the least. It's a nice carrier and was a very easy install, but half a grand?

I've heard so-so things about bearmach carriers, not sure I like that plastic coat they seem to put on everything. I couldn't get a good look at the paddock carrier, but I can see that it mounts quite a bit further over than the mantec does. Which might be fine, but I just want to make sure the carrier I get doesn't have to be opened separately from the door. With the SW, I think it's a safety issue, you should be able to open the rear door from the inside, you know?

I guess a quick email to paddock would answer that query. Oh, and VAT isn't charged to US exports (you should know that Jimmy!)
