Found in truck- any military buffs recognize this?

Brian Kandefer found this in the truck while doing my build. No markings on the back. Curious if it's military related at all. Truck was originally an 84 RHD MOD.

Looks like a grand mother's necklace pendant.
Does not look like a medal or anything military, beyond the generic cross shape.

Tough one and cool find. It's a Maltese cross and may or may not be military. The lions make me think it could be. If they are winged, it could be from northern Italy (Saint Mark). Lots of countries used the Maltese cross though. My guess is it's either from Scotland or Ireland. Here is a wiki page that breaks down the symbol country by country.

I'm also biased towards Jewellery based on the loop at the top for a necklace. However, did the truck come straight from service to you? Also whose country did the LR serve?

Ok, it looks like it could be a symbol of the Saint John's Ambulance Brigade/British Order of Saint John. So, likely the occupants of said MOD were first aiders. For the record I'm not a military buff, but I did serve 20 years and am kinda buff.

Not really sure on origin. I bought it from Gui TravelerBT whose occasionally on the site. When I got it had already undergone some serious changes. Sals rear, disc brakes, 300tdi, lt230, r380, upgraded fuse block. It was also a bastardized double cab. No idea about from when or where it came from before its import into the US from the UK. I'm going to have a jeweler look at the stone and tell me if its a stone or man made. Looks like there could be wings toward the back of the body with the tail.
