I think most people at this point know how terrible they are. The original enjoyment of tons of bass got all the kids interested.

This is why I only wear mine as a under-clamp codpiece.

$10 skull candy or whatever is cheap as long as they aren't the hard plastic crap they send with iphones. To many years around loud noises have made audiophile stuff pointless for me.

I have Bose in your ear phones. They are the best on ear phones I ever had.

I use a Bose headset at work and it is amazing ($1k it should be) but my Bose earbuds are no better than my daughters Skull Candy earbuds that cost about 1/5th of the Bose.

Thinking you need an unbiased product tester in NOVA. I'll be glad to donate my ears.

I liked my UE's when I had them but moved onto Westone's - I prefer them. But it really depends on how and what you listen to. You're paying for marketing on Beats, Bose, Skull Candy, Marley, etc.

UE's are good and not crazy expensive. I'm sure there are some Shure fans out there that are justified to say they're the best as well.

Still sticking with my Westone 4R's.

The best way to have music make love to your ears is with a pair of Grados.

i am going to Westone on Monday - they will give me a set to compare. Personally, i can't see them being any better than UE's - but it is always a personal choice when you are spending upwards of $1500 for a headset.

Over-the-ear compared to in-ear should always yield better results.

No lie on the Grado's - not as convenient for us commuter types.

Again - all the better earphones/headphones will make the crappy streaming or low rate digital files sound even crappier.

This is one of those topics similar to arguing about what oil to put in your truck - no right answer and very dependent on personal preference.
