For the Tamiya Lovers

Just saw this as a new release. I am definitely asking my mom for it when I get home from school.

HA I have a hornet in my garage next to my wild willy. Wait I shouldn't talk about the willy unless the fake girls are around.

I'm interested in 1 with a defender body. Can you guys point me in the direction of what model to buy and where to purchase as well as price?

Thanks

There is a thread around here about it. One way is a Tamiya toyota truck I believe and then you can get the body from another source. THere is a guy in Hong Kong that will build it for you. I got the info from a member about a year ago and then sold all the RC stuff for real Rover parts.

I just sold mine and I did it with a Traxxas T-Maxx truck and an aftermarket body. I don't have photos on this computer (I'm not as cool as Barry).

Traxxas is a bit cheaper I think and I found easier since it is RTR out of the box. If I ever do RC cars again I think I'll go electric though as the gas are a b!tch to tune at altitude.

Here you go. I have been eyeing this for awhile. Not cheap. Closest thing out there. I have a Bruiser that I have been thinking about doing but just don't have the time.

I have a T-max and I want to go back to electric. It looks like some of these trucks are slow and low geared for crawling. Thats what I was after. And yes, the T-max is a pain in the ass. I bought it when electric was not as cool as gas and it seems that things changed the other way now.

Yeah for crawling electric is where it's at. Buy a high wound motor and gear it low for torque. I have a bunch of nitro trucks but only crawl with my electrics.

I really wanted a Frog but could only afford a Hornet.

Now this looks like a cool truck..

So Alexandra you are a REAL woman and have a D90, a big dog and are into R/C cars?! That makes you much cooler than Barry.

Back in the day it was all RC-10 for me.

New chassis, longer a-arms, Novak speed controller old school stuff.

That takes me back.

Gustav, if you're looking to crawl there are tons of stuff coming out. Try rccrawler.com. I'm still waiting for Tamiya to redo the 3 speed Hilux with locking warn hubs up front and a working transfer case.
