For Sale mint condition NAS 110

Just kidding...
Here are shots of the latest NAS 110 we are restoring in the tear down phase. This one really needs it bad. The scary thing is this is not the most rusted 110 we have on the lot!
Thought you guys would enjoy the pics of just how nasty they can get.

That looks like one a customer of mine had in NJ. He kept telling me it was worth big bucks. Then I saw the photos ScArY.

That is where it came from (ebay), poor customer had no idea. It looked good (he thought) covered in bondo and newer white paint so he bought it.

No, NAS 110 do not have vent flaps. The AC and heat system in a 110 covers that area. Some Euro 110s and 90s of the early 1990s had the same system.

If you think this one is bad wait until you see CDN #10/25 that is here. It is much worse.

No kidding, although living near the ocean or beach here in SoCal can rust out your rover just like in those pictures. I'm in the city so I'm ok, if anything just light surface rust. Last weekend after taking my tranny out of the D90, I noticed that the frame metal between the crossmembers are bare metal with no rust protection at all. I was pretty amazed at only seeing some surface rust and nothing else. It is a shame they don't galvanize at Solihull. I sure hope nothing like that is growing underneath the bulkhead of my 110, I do notice some rust at the cappings towards the rear.

No just sell at a loss- the rust worms were installed at factory by special vehicles. Any day now.

The worst Defenders we see, rust-wise, come from the upper mid-west. IL, IN, OH that area. Then beach trucks (MA and NJ), then upstate NY and VT trucks, then the rest of New England. I drive a D90 all winter and it looks nothing like this, it all depends on how you take care of it, but if you have a west coast truck and drive it in Maine in the winter you'll be crying this Spring for sure after you see what happens to it, especially if you drive on the interstates like 95 (they spread that liquid truck death stuff all winter).
If you want to keep a 110 from the west coast good in New England... buy a beater RR or Disco to drive from Dec. to April and park the 110, IMO.
