That's funny. On a similar note, I can read upside down at the same speed as right side up. I discovered this on long car rides as a little kid. My sister would usually bring something to read and I would forget. So I'd read upside down while she read right side up.

I bet if one was able to read Gus' text easily they could also read it inverted.

Yes it is always fun when your phone changes words for you when you are texting a client and you don't notice it till they text you back and you read what you sent them

Imagine what it would be like if Columbus wasn't English! The texting generation have lost alot of the skills, i fear, in everyday communications. The three R's have been lost i'm afraid.

He was working for Spain and that started Spanish colonization which mostly resulted in the Spanish plundering central America of its wealth.

English colonization started 100 years later......

as wrenching pointed out, columbus was italian but his explorations were founded by the spanish queen in hopes of finding the indies.
according to history (if I remember correctly) he died not knowing he had discovered a new continent.
that claim was given to Americo Vespucci whom in turn gave the new land his last name to identify it as his claim.
the english language althou based on roman and latin, is a degeneration of viking vocabulary by being mixed with old german scandinavian and many anglo-saxon dialects.
it borrows words from many other different languages and dialects in order to enrichen it's vocabulary as it is very limited in comparison to other roman based languages.
as per texting, I consider that an insult to the vocabulary of any laguage being use for that purpose, just plain butchery.... and this is comming from someone whose first spoken or written native language is not english.
