FL registration help

Hey Guys,

Client needs some help registering an ex mod 90 in FL. I provided VT registration that acts as title for everything over 15 years old and a bill of sale.

FL DMV has rejected him twice saying it's not a title. VT DMV says they should take it but does not talk to FL. Sold another rover to FL years ago and never had a problem....nor any of the other states I've sold to.

Any one know the FL DMV better or have ideas?

tell him to try a different DMV or go to a local tax collector office instead of DMV. You are correct it shouldn't be a problem. Ive done it with our maine trucks and none of them had titles. You can go to any notary to have them verify the vin matches the registration (download the form from their website) and then go to a tax collector office. Ladies there barely look at anything twice.

I'm from FL. Find the smallest nearby town and use that DMV.

I have registered vehicles with title VIN errors, created my own bills of sale in parking lots, etc etc.

It's all personality based, as the regs are so bizarre.

He wants to try a new DMV so I'm going to scan down an official VT bill of sale to show me personally vs GMR company. Hopefully that will help. Got to be frustrating 3 trips to DMV.

Not going to lie this is one of those reasons I love VT. Go to DMV present napkin bill of sale and $27 and good to go.

Had same problem from a RI purchased vehicle with only reg. They've been cracking down in the past few months so if you find you're getting the same response from every dmv in fl try this.
Go to vt's dmv website and see if there's an official vin registration verification form that could be filled out. That might be the only workaround Fl's cracking down on the illegal shady cars coming threw stolen etc
Good luck
