And it still looks horrible...

I wish I had known this would be out by my office. I would have gone and checked it out.

If I'm missing something let me know, but it looks like it has 3 recovery points in the rear and none in the front. What were they thinking?

Maybe it's like my Audi where you have to remove an access panel in the front bumper and screw in the recovery point.

It's a joke everyone, this has to be a joke. You can't put a Defender badge on what is clearly a Freelander III and expect the Land Rover community to believe this nonsense.

Does anyone know when these pics were taken, 'cause I was hanging around Santa Monica yesterday. Good thing they didn't park it next to my Defender. It would have looked puny.

What's with the micro rear view mirrors on the butterscotch unit?

Looks like they're not actual mirrors, just camera mounts. Show truck sillyness.

without mirrors I'm pretty sure it's not street legal, which is why the drive was limited to the parking lot i'm guessing.

the only hope is the fact that most concept vehicles don't end up looking like the production units. with comments from land rover that they want to stetch what was possible in terms of 4x4's and can always "scale it back" and that no one likes the damn thing maybe, just maybe, the final version will be better and not so much of a joke.... wishful thinking?.....

Still nothing on the 4wd system.

Maybe it's too much to be asking for a system that can funnel 100% of available engine torque to individual wheels, or an infinitely variable transfer case ratio from ultra-low crawl to highway friendly ratio, but the fact that the prototype didn't even address the 4WD system makes me suspicious.

As the old commercial used to ask: "Where's the beef?"

Very wishful thinking. Land Rover said at an unveiling a few weeks back that they were overwhelmed with the positive feedback they've rec'd regarding this concept, and that they now know they're on the right track. They're probably the same people who think their shit doesn't stink, either.

Lol! well, hopefully it will just be known as the DC100 and not a Defender.... but, since LR announced they are dropping the alphanumeric naming to go back to the names such as discovery etc., the Defender name will be pretty much castrated

Maybe if you didnt know anything about defenders it would be OK

To me it looks like they are going for the sport mini SUV market.

It seems impossible that the the concept would be named a defender.
