Finally got one!

Thought I'd introduce myself now that I finally have a D90. I bought Mike McCaig's truck yesterday and drove back 160 miles to Raleigh. It's a black 95 ST.

Look forward to tackling a lot of small projects on it. It's a lot of fun and the total opposite of my daily driver.

Will post some pictures soon.

Neal...was it really an 8 year wait to get one? Based on your '04 registration date on D90...

Congrats! It took me years to find the right one as well! Then I ended up moving to Oahu and didn't bring it! I'm not letting it go though!

thanks everyone!

Thomas -- will try to make it up to Valle Crucis this summer

Phillip -- sounds good, raleigh times roof top should be opening soon

Jason -- It has been a long time, I wanted a Defender since I saw them on the lots as a kid in 95. I've looked on and off for a while and this truck just happened to be the perfect combination of color/price/condition/location.

Congrats on the purchase. It sure looks like a great 90 for the money. How does it run and how does it look? Anything need to be done to it or are you building a want list?

Runs really well -- looks like either the oil pan needs to be resealed or there is a TC / trans leak? Noticed some drops after I parked it yesterday, will get it checked out this week. Also need to find a good source for a windshield replacement.

Otherwise in good shape, just going to give it a good cleaning.

I'd like to swap to oem NAS110 wheels / badger top at some point.

Number one rule to remember....if it's NOT leaking, that's when you need to worry...means something's empty.

Glad to see this truck went to a good d90 owner! I left work after seeing this truck posted and after several varying discussions with the wife.. i finally got the "OK" but Neal had already set up his meeting. Only fscking 3 hours after I saw it. I'm 14 hours away though.

Awesome find and hopefully I'll get to officially join the club too.

Hey Neal - congrats!

Great to hear that black ST went to a good home. That was a nice truck with a nice price. Are you still DD an Audi? There are days I miss the S4 but the 90 (when running right, haha) is a ton of fun. Keep us updated with what you are doing with the 90.

Chris -- can't tell you how many trucks I just missed out on, I'm sure you'll find one soon.

Don -- I am, in a b8 S4 now, apr stage 2+, doesn't sound like the B6 but it is very fast! Will definately keep you updated.

Congrats Neal.

On the windshield, check with your insurance company as it's often included with a small deductable. Otherwise they can be replaced yourself pretty easily, but getting the glass can be a pain, even though it's just flat laminate.

Good buy. As far as the drip from the back of the engine, I would suggest replacing the cross seals. It is almost never the rear main.

Stage 2+ B8 must be nice. Just checked out the APR site - that exhaust sounds wicked!

Thanks Charles -- looks like AB has the windshields for a good price, although the seal is almost as expensive as the glass.

Ron -- Going to power wash underneath and then drive around to see if I can figure out what exactly is leaking.

Don -- I just went with APR for the software/pulley, I did the AWE exhaust again, it's a little louder and cheaper since you can buy w/o downpipes (which are just for resonance control) on the b8.

Josh -- no digital camera but I will get some soon.

Also seems like the trailer light indicator comes on when I use the signals, anyone else have this issue?
