From the AEV website:

Drawing inspiration from the Land Rover Defender 130, the Brute Double Cab was designed specifically for the expanding overland travel market.
ANY off road vehicle that has the spare on a winch up under the bed HAS NO BUSINESS being off road.

Dry finish tin cloth is the best option.

Dave, the owner of AEV, had been working on a swing away tire carrier for the Double Cab Brute. Not sure what the development status is in relationship to its potential release on the market. Here are a few shots of the pre-production tire carrier:

Geez, this thing is well built and targets a specific market. This would handle 90 plus percent of any roadway, developed or not. (Completely BS'd that number, Im not gonna lie). No, the angles and specific equipment trim is not up to extreme trails, but thats not what the target demographic is going to be doing with this truck. For a well heeled westerner, this thing is perfect for everyday and overlanding. Besides, AEV builds other Jeeps specifically for "off-roading."

We got it, all things non Rover suck.

For that kind of money I would rather drive this Mercedes G XXL Wagon .... currently on display on the Dubai International Motor Show.

One of our G Wagon customers saw a 127/130 Defender we build for a US customer and wanted a extreme version of it.

Ended up chopping of the back half, extending the frame quite a bit, adding a XXL load floor made from 2 x 3 dr LWB WOLF G Wagon rear tubs so all factory Mercedes bodypanels, 7 inch body lift kit, 38 inch Mickey Thompson wheels, Brabus full leather interior and lots more.

I'd rather buy a Brand new Power Wagon, Brand new Tacoma Baja edition, And a Brand new Wrangler for $130k than spend that much on that Jeep.

The AEV site says the double cab(normal specs that is really all you need) starts at $29,999(not including price of base vehicle). I'm not sure if that price is for installed/built and what specifically it includes since it says "starting at" which is a very vague/sketchy phrase. The Filson edition is unnecessarily expensive... like all special edition vehicles.

Well I'm not sure just yet where I'm crossing over to Canada this summer, but if I'm that way (Filson HQ) you never know...I am up grading the entire drive train on the 90 in January to a bored out 5.0 and rebuilding the transfer and trans also going to upgrade the u joints and shaft before my AK trip this summer with my son.

I'm planning on driving through El Paso so hope you're around! Probably in May/June, I have to do this trip before the National LR event...my hearing will be gone by next fall.

Just realized 3 years after this post I made - I'm one of the rare people crazy/dumb enough to now own one of these - Filson Brute with 6.4L Hemi... 470HP is nuts in this thing
