Explosions at Boston Marathon Finish Line

Just saw this on another site i frequent..

Bloody spectators were being carried Monday to the medical tent that had been set up to care for fatigued runners. Police wove through competitors as they ran back toward the course.
"There are a lot of people down," said one man, whose bib No. 17528 identified him as Frank Deruyter of North Carolina.
He was not injured, but marathon workers were carrying one woman, who did not appear to be a runner, to the medical area as blood gushed from her leg. A Boston police officer was wheeled from the course with a leg injury that was bleeding.
About three hours after the winners crossed the line, there was a loud explosion on the north side of Boylston Street, just before the photo bridge that marks the finish line.
Another explosion could be heard a few seconds later.

I graduated from BU in 08 and have a lot of friends who were in Copley. All are confirmed safe now. They said the BPD told them to get home as they were finding multiple bombs in different parts of the city.

It looks like the explosion was just off camera - they're saying in a trash can probably right next to the tree. Prayers with everyone in the area. I saw them rushing a man out of there who appeared to have lost some limbs.

Europe either has no trashcans or bombproof ones for exactly this reason ... cellphone service shutdown to prevent remote triggers ... and a bomb found at the JFK library.

Relax, all we need is a little more gun control and all these problems will go away.

Exactly and not to mention that bombs are already illegal along with it being illegal to kill people.

This is so retarded at multiple levels. This is not unlike taking our guns away because some psycho idiot squeezed the trigger and killed some folks.

Bye, bye, trashcans.

On a serious note, Prayers to those in the line of fire. I am heartbroken we have to endure this type of hate.

Two wars, hundreds of billions spent, a new cabinet department, thousands of Boston police on the scene and we are still no closer to stopping terrorism than we were 15 years ago. If that isn't just leaving you absolutely gobsmacked, I don't know what will.

We need an explosives ban and background checks on all fertilizer purchases, as well as better mental health checks on everyone.

Well that's one optic on it Bill...the other side of that coin would say that 11 years 3k people died in one day because of an attack on our soil and since then, well...

...oh wait, the away game does seem to work because most Americans are in far greater danger of dying of eating too much than a terrorist attack.

hahaha But it has to be an explosives ban that respects the rights of those who blow things up for a living like terrorists and army forward observers.

Bans, limitations, and background checks are proven to NOT work, except to limit those who legally utilize whatever it is.

General Pershing had some rather brash and novel ideas about dealing with terrorists that seemed pretty effective for half a century. Our SOP of targeting here domestically is not effective due to political correctness and a misinterpretation of rights, imo. It all comes down to deterrence, and we are not doing anything to prevent this crap.

A big shout out to all the first responders, bystanders, and others who rushed INTO the line of fire. We have life in America after all.

No doubt.

Scary shit going down.

I know you guys have seen shit and been trained to see shit.

But marathon runners carrying a newly made double amputee to the medical tent? Wow.

I went to school in Boston(BU) and spent a few Patriot days down around Copley Square watching the runners.... after the Sox lost.
