120 posts about EE.

No one ever had this much to say about Safari Gard. I guess that is because no one ever defended them.

I cant remeber if I fell asleep watching Game 3 or reading this thread last night.

Most of the overpriced useless stuff came from other sources, like the heated windscreen, the mil spec pick axe mount (actually have used that to cut trail a couple times - oh well), the XZLs. All that stuff has got to be useless.

The stuff John sold me is all sensible pieces of kit, like slotted rotors (who needs good brakes), PowerTank rig (who needs air), spring isolators (darn, lost those spring noises), superwinch (only used it like 5 times last year so that was a waste), safety seal, factory switching for extra lights (darn, why didn't i just go to pep boys),

Me and Bushberger, we clearly have different agendas.

Hey,

Those names you call me really hurt me. I am a human being too! It's not like I refer to you as "Wicks Stalin Walker", "Wicks the Communist", "Socialist Walker", or "Wicks I hate America Walker Lindh." Can't we all just get along?

BTW: What do you need the Powertank for? Is the mall parking lot too low so you have to deflate your tires to get in there?

Dude! I've been deep in the desert with Wicks' rig -- Mojave, Death, Panamint, Saline, Anza, Salton -- you name it. No better truck to run with, imho. I've aired up with that very PowerTank you are dissing, and heard that SuperWinch grind it's heart out in the Los Padre National Forest. Wicks' rig, in all her glory, is a two-time winner of the NVTR, argueably the toughest navigational rally in the U.S.

Participated no. There are no others in the West that I am aware of, except for a handful of hit and miss local events. Since East Coast is too far for us to travel I have not investigated there. I have a friend that runs the Baja 500 in his RR, but that is not a navigational rally but rather a 100% speed event. I would welcome more, since the next NVTR is more than a year away.

Hey Doug,

If you and Wicks come on the trip next month I am sure we could manage to get lost for you guys and put those navigational skills to good use

Have to go east for Thanksgiving. Man, I have missed too many runs this year!

Thanks for the invite tho, Kevin. I'm hoping 2006 will be a much better year...

Whoah. This should be a "no bumps allowed" thread. Kyle - prepare for the hailstorm.

Expedition Exchange and all Land-Rover vendors ROCK and we are so lucky to have them!

I guess Kyle just wanted to resurrect the thread to drum up interest and anticipation for the 2-year commemorative DVD release of this thread which will be full of bonus features about Omega watches, icom radios, field cutlery, expensive shotguns, and disdain for non-OEM-appearing modifications.

If you haven't been insulted by Jon Lee, you're obviously not trying hard enough.

Rather than look negatively on JL's 'insults', grasshopper, consider them to be constructive criticism. If you do so, surely one day you will hear the one single compliment, from the belly of perfect wisdom, that will be indeed rare enough your personal rapture may finally be within your grasp...

Ahh, you think I jest, grasshopper?

I'm not sure who the grasshopper is here, but I personally dont expend much energy seeking approval, nor do I wish to carry a boilling cauldron between my bare arms. I was merely suggesting that Jon isn't prejudiced, rather that he hates everybody equally.
