Exmor Trim USA Mesh Top Trouble

Anyone else running this top and having the looping straps break? I think I have lost about 14 of these things as they just pop the hook piece?

Before coming here, did you talk with ETUSA?

Rocky,
I didn't post to bag on Exmor trim but was wondering if anyone else had problems. Yes I did speak with Exmor and they wanted me to send pictures of the broken ones (ball is in my court to do that) though I got the impression that this is not a typically problem from them.
So back to my question - has anyone had these break? I have since switch to a round ball style off of ebay as the cost was about $25 for 100 of them. Sometimes it is easier to just change things up, rather than going back and forth and back and forth, pics, emails, begging, pleading, waiting which I have done in the past with certain vendors...it gets old.

Agreed...X2,000,000... Certain Vendors. Customer service is paramount, it's not just about product in the end.

Let's see pics of the broken ones. It'd be nice to see where exactly they are breaking (curiousity).

I've had the Mesh Top surrey installed for a week. Like it no problems so far. The straps in the rear could be a little longer where the straps for the front roll bars could be shorter.
When did your straps start breaking. 14 is a lot.

Russell,
This may sound really dumb but did your's come with different size straps? All mine where the same size according to the installation manual...wait I didn't get one of those. May explain why mine are breaking ---- maybe once again I am proving to be a horses a** and dumb as a bag of hammers.

All the same size with two extra. I like the top. Looks great with the exposed roll bars. Zero buffeting and blocks enough light to prevent the heat and glare while still allowing enough light through for that open top feeling only the ST guys will understand. ;-)

Belt Rail in the inside

I will post some pics but I installed a belt rail on the inside as well so I can run the mesh side curtains with my soft top on or off. Turned out well.

Clay,
Sure enough. Just returned from a week's trip to find out that four of my straps broke -- while it was parked in the garage no less. Also lost a rivet. Will give ExmorTrim USA a ring on Monday. Shouldn't be difficult to sort out.

I am still waiting for my ROW top to ride the slow boat from England, so be thankful you can at least work with ETUSA.

Aren't the companies essentially one in the same? To contact ETUSA, you call the local distributor (RN or S-HP) whom I assume would need to go back to ET.

You would think, but they are not. ETUSA doesn't carry any non-NAS products, and doesn't appear to want to. Safari HP and ETUSA are more the same company than the 2 Exmoors.

So I had to go to Nene Overland to get it, but it is taking them 2-3 weeks just to get the top from Exmoor UK, then they will ship it to me.

What did you order? We've got ROW 90 tops sitting in the warehouse and a container delivering in a week... (though I think we are down to one or two at this point)

Surrey, full, other? I would be interested if it has the same materials, rivets/grommets, and straps as the ET USA version.

A full one, but it won't be here for a few more weeks....

Quick update. The local distributer and ET-USA welcomed the feedback and are making changes to the straps. Always support the vendors and suppliers that stand behind their products and customers. Kudos to them.

Are the rivets just pulling through the top when the hooks snap?
