evilfij fixes truck on side of road again

I was hauling *ss on I95 going home on friday and the truck just died. Pulled off to the side of the road. Used starter to get way on the grass. Thought I blew something as I was in third at the redline when it let go. Would not start, within 5 minutes I had checked the cap and rotor and swapped the silver relays and ecu. No love. Got ticked off (was having a bad day) and then thought about the ignition module so I went to swap that hand found a break in the coil wire. Stood on the tires (in a suit) to get to it with my teeth on the wire and stripped the insulation off of it and got it back together. YAY! Got back in truck, and tried to start it, but I had left it in gear and nearly ran myself over. Hopped back on 95 and continued home happily.

LOL, well done. This is why I have made a career out of avoiding jobs that require suits!

Btw, I recommend not stripping wire with your teeth anymore if you can help it. I chipped a tooth doing so and I'm told I look like a hill billy redneck now (or something to that effect) since I haven't gotten it fixed. Well, I got it fixed and then stripped some wire....

Next time I will use my lighter. You can strip wire with the metal shield.

D90. As DB says, it is a manual and I moved it with the starter.

Still have the sh*tbox lwb. I was doing 95 in the lwb with the dormobile roof strapped onto it when I drove back from NY last month.

tdis are slow, 4.6 and a blower is what i want

Nice stuff Ron. I can only imagine the limit you break in your Lotus.

BTW, what's your Rover V8 "First Aid" box contain? ECU, silver relays, ign module? Anything else?

Yup, she is bone stock (other than cosmetics). She will do 100-110 with the disco chip coming my way. Pic in the first post of this thread.
