D90's are common sights in LA, never had that problem since I have a hardtop on.
A guy told me one time "don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat from around the corner"

I'd be an angry bear if I found anyone sitting in my ride. I'd drag them out, pin them to the ground and ask them if they had any questions as I'd be more than happy to answer them while they suffered varying amounts of pain depending on how dumb their questions were.

I removed mine, but it was similar - said something like "Do Not Fuck With My Land Rover. Serious Death or Injury Will Occur." Found it on eBay.
"The most unreliable car in the world is the most reliable car in the world." -Jeremy Clarkson refering to the Range Rover

That's totally crazy to find some people in your truck. I'd have a real hard time not going off. My temper would most likely get the better of me!

A friend of mine runs a land rover / range rover specialty repair shop. Based on his experience, they are capable of stopping anywhere, anytime, at any cost.

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.
