Yes it will. Robert Davis in Chesapeake, VA is playing around with the 4JB1T. rdavisinva (at) yahoo(dot)com He has the conversion plate to the R380 (gas version I think).

Isuzu has been in the diesel buisness a loooong time. Some on the UK boards argue that the Isuzu 2.8 is smoother than than the 300Tdi.

There is a guy in Nova Scotia with an Isuzu powered RRC that I saw in May, it fit nicely. Having dealt with RD on my Daihatsu, I couldn't recommend using him for an installation.
