E Bay Sighting

I am wading back into the Defender world having previously owned two D90's back in the day. I mostly got rid of them because I showed up to work daily dripping in sweat (the A/C didn't perform well in Houston). Now that I am a little older, I don't care if I smell at work.

The only issue, how do I separate the wheat from the chaff? Is this legit or a giant nightmare waiting to be shipped to Houston?

Thanks for any help. Keep in mind my wife says she wants to drive it to Colorado every summer, so my guess is there is likely a new engine, and maybe a red dot AC in the future . . .

Matt

There are some things in the description that does not match the pictures. Good luck in your quest.

What is up with that bonnet ?

As said the factory rated the truck with a top speed of 65 mph (when new) with much shorter narrower tires and about 700 lbs lighter than what is pictured.

This one might go 65 down a mountain. You can turn calendar pages waiting for it to go up one.

Hahaha....saw this on facebook the other day. The bonnet is hilarious, but so many pieces on it that make me laugh. Defender decals on both sides in case you forget what it is, fake puma bonnet, 2 light bars, recovery points a foot outboard of the frame rails, etc, etc, etc.

Thanks

Well, that was all very helpful. When I bought my D90's it seemed like everything was NAS and it was pretty simple. This whole ROW thing seems a wee bit more complicated. I'll stop looking at flea bay . . .

What's up with all the giant rows of LED lights everyone is putting on their trucks now a days? Is the world getting darker?

If this guy really has been driving this thing locally for the past two years, I'm a little surprised I've never seen it.

Did he yank the auction? Doesn't look like the truck sold.

I don't get it either. Just replace your headlights with bright ones and you don't need any other lights unless you need them to be able to be adjustable like a spot light. My LED headlights are bright as hell.

What cage mounts like this? My SD for the 90 mounts on just the outer fender. I can't imagine it could get down to the frame mounted like that.

Also all that weight with 67HP. Someone should take a shotgun to the engine block and put it out of its misery.

P&P has SD-style mounts as well (at least for the A-pillar.) No idea who made that cage...

Cage looks home made and not to be relied on for anything except aesthetic value.
The boxes on the roof...just sitting there on the paintwork, not on the roof rack.....paint already flaking off many bits including axle, Calvin says it was a CKD assembly,
