Few NAS trucks in there...actually more than a few. Is that where all our eBay NAS trucks are going?

The 97 JAP spec trucks were sent there to start. I am interested in the story behind the blue diesel NAS soft top.

I thought that was a NAS truck too at first (maybe one of those "Hella" editions) - BUT did you see the tail lights? They look ROW spec.

I think there was a NAS soft top for the middle east or they had access to the soft top cage. I have seen a couple of them in pics over the years.

So you're saying that Rover may have produced a NAS version just for the middle east, similar to our trucks but maybe in various colors and yet still retained the bullet style rear markers? That would be rather interesting.

Not sure. But there are pics of a burgundy one floating around too.

I think of it as the middle-east version of wearing an ascot and sport coat. It basically makes the statement "I don't need to work - how could I possibly do anything physical in this robe, now go fetch my falcons and ready my hierum in the paddocks ready for service"

If somebody told me that I had to wear a linen robe like that every day but that I also owned rights to billions of gallons of oil deposits, I'd strongly consider it!

However, I'd draw the line if the deal included a cousin that was a member of Al-Queada and nose that look like Alladin's!

During desert storm period of time I worked for a rolls royce company in England..after the fighting etc was over the rich sheiks etc were screaming out for qualified people to come and work on their vehicles as most had left etc..( alot of the sheiks would send their vehicles to us for modifications etc etc already)....there were stories of them paying extraordinary amounts of monies,, and if you were good you got to pick from a harem and were treated like royalty yourself..was all ready to go until i found out that I couldn't drink or fratonise with women outside of his "camp".. so if he had nothing you liked or wanted to go out for some "strange" it was basically a no go...I told em to stuff it...lol..oh how my life could have been soooo very different..LOL...

Shayne, funny story a buddy of mine took the bait and went to Dubi. He is an awsome fisherman and boat captain. He has been over there a few years and makes mad money. All he does is run a 70 foot Viking sport fish all day as slow as he can so he kicks up a huge wake so the little princes can jump their jet skis while bopping from one island oasis to the next. He says lots of hookers and booze. His wife was getting antsy 'cause he hadn't been home for a couple years, so she sent him a text to ask him when he was coming home. Well, he sends her a text back that she can go ahead and have the house, truck and 401k he ain't coming home anytime soon. Turns out they keep him in a steady stream of Russian hookers so he's good. Coulda' been you.
