D's from Overseas...

Got a couple of pics from my trip to Athens/Cyprus/Santorini... I'll post a few, I was on the look out!

Nothing big, but I always get a kick out of seeing D's...

)

Nick

Oh yeah, note the D110 in the Cyprus2 picture... it's says 'Jeep Safari' ... I about wanted to slit my wrists when I saw that. I found this one almost to the top of the Kykkos Mountains in a swiss-style village on a cliff... funny thing was when we were touring Ayia Napa on the east Coast of Cyprus I saw another company where it said practically the same 'Jeep' statement... wasn't quick enough on the draw with the camera though.

Thems is some perty pics. But I don't like the rims on the last one. I think Land ROvers are one of the few vehicals on the road that can look good with pizza cutter tires. They look very clean but still well used.

Mike,

You know it's funny you mention that... If you look on the top rear of the vehicle you'll see it says 'Music Factory'... I saw another D90 on the island of Santorini that said that same thing, I think they were for some company, and the other one looked just as 'guido'd out' as that one. In any case, I agree with you.

out of ayia napa on the road to larnaca there is a land rover grave yard of ex military trucks
series,90's and 110's must be a couple hundred.i did have pictures of them all lined up but sorry there in the UK.as for the "jeep safaries"waste of time(seen them not been on one) your better off getting a suski and going off road yourself(hard to rent a L/R)

yeah, i saw the groups that went into those 110's for the so called 'safari' ... just them driving around hitting the pavement... literally ! Well, what can you expect when you write 'JEEP' on the side of your 110.

True, I tried to rent LR's EVERYWHERE I went with no luck... we ended up renting this Mitsubishi (CRV size) 4WD that didn't do too bad on the muddy trek (road) up to the Kykkos Monastery.

(If you ever find those pics of the graveyard send 'em!)

Oh, I also found this lonely Series in Santorini...

Good question... actually since it was 'off-season' a lot of them were closed... we stayed at the Nestor Hotel, not bad, and hit a few of the bars around there... I apologize for not remembering the names...

Don't worry Nick, Jimmy doesn't rember the bars names either, he knows if he has been to the bar because they have his picture on the wall , saying watch this guy!

Mike,

LMAO... good one.

Jimmy,

Do you have family in Cyprus ? Just wondering because you've visited a LOT.
My family is from Pano Lefkara, finally got a chance to visit the village (literally) that my Grandfather grew up in.

Russell,

I didn't see that article, but I did see the one in the Dec 04 Issue of LR Enthusiast... there was an awesome write-up they had on Iceland... great pics of the D110's in a huge blizzard.

Neat
