Doug and Dave's Excellent Adventure

Some harmless video from our trip east last year. Sorry had to delete all the non-PC stuff...
Not a whole lot here but I think you can tell we are enjoying it. There are photos too yet to come. Been slow getting these done but I'm on a roll...

Good stuff brother. Hadn't seen a bunch of that. Thanks for putting that together.

I'm ready to go back.

Looks like Charles Galpin and I wil be making a similar trip to NY on Friday to meet up with Bozman.
We'll be bringing back a 110 tdi and Charles new 88 back. Plan is to trailer the 88 so we can run fast. Greg says 10 inches on ground and still falling.

------ Follow up post added February 24th, 2010 07:01 PM ------

For anyone watching the first clip,a little explanation. My 15 yr old son Trey is already a rover addict and was regularly surfing ebay uk looking for 110 project trucks. He found that truck we are loading on trailer and indirectly through his sister let me know thats what he wanted for Christmas. I was able to buy it for $1008 due to it being just days before Christmas. The truck had sat for 9yrs based on the expired tax disc on the windsheild. Dave and I dragged it from N.Yorkshire all the way to Southampton. Thats around 400 miles in a country where your average speed is kept to about 38mph avg if you are in a hurry (round abouts kill the average). Due to the terrorist attempt on the Delta flight on Christmas eve and resulting clamp down by Homeland Security the trucks didn't arrive untill the first week of February. We have the 110 running now and Trey has spent hours and hours cleaning algae off it. The truck is showing 60k and based on the service records we found in the seat box appears to be true milage. Its got a ways to go but is an awesome start for a young roverphile who doesn't even have a learners permit yet.

Cool videos! I love driving native vehicles in their native land. Beemer in Munich, Alfa in Italy. Not too much satisfaction from an American car in the states yet... unless it was a '68 Mustang around San Francisco.

Oh yeah and I want a 130. Doug how long is the bed in those? You think you could fit a motorcycle back there?

I'm trying to remember one part of the trip I did not enjoy and am coming up blank. Cramped in the back of that 90 in stopped traffic with my back teeth swimming was not so enjoyable but overall it was a hoot. Not really any other footage to speak of though. Wish I'd taken some of that portion where Doug and I got out and walked 2+ miles uphill to the chip shop. Too funny.

Photos coming...eventually...lots and lots to sort through.

Nah- wimped. Were we were headed has 2.5 feet on the ground and its not going to stop falling until Sunday night. Pulling a car trailer and feel its better to wait for the storm to end.
