I think there are 2 advantages to having the speaker higher on the door panel:

1. You can actually here it when someone is sitting in the seat.
2. You are less likely to kick it when you get into the truck.

It seems reasonable to just add some extra wire to make the speaker position work.

No I mean where the wires come out of the panel. Put the speakers wherever you want, but have the wires exit the panel at the same point they enter the body.

Actually, this design doesnt appear to have a place for the speaker wire gasket. The place where it looks like it goes is for the check rod.

For comparison, here are both door panels side by side.

Jim, good point. Personally I say keep it simple. One semi-circle big enough to cover the check rod, speaker wires and house a speaker (and reinforced to hold the speaker without stress). One section to cover the latch mechanism, and any ribbing/shaping needed to keep it stiff and call it a day. A place to connect a mesh/webbing pocket is all thats needed (if any).

I like it! The speaker area needs a little more photochopping and don't forget the speaker wires.

Also can't forget that pre-95 has the check rod, and 95+ has the the locking check rod which is a totally different design. I think 95 wont fit 94, but 94 might fit 95+.

I know you are trying to promote your business but I think a much smaller and more discrete logo would bring you more sales. Maybe you make a recess in the panel to accept a standard LR oval logo and have an Iron Goat logo badge included as something that could be swapped out for the LR unit if the user wanted to make it look more factory? Keep your texture as close to stock as possible as well, that is my only beef with your dash console, the texture does not even come close to what is in our trucks. Mud UK hit the mark with the texture on their console, it is so close it looks like it could have come from the factory. Please take this as it as meant, as constructive suggestions to make your product more appealing to a wider audience. The closer everything looks in color texture and style to stock product the better it will sell.

Texture

Thanks Jesse , that is exactly what the hold up is with the door panels , it seems the Land Rover texture is a custom one with long lead times .
Again the rather large "IRON GOAT " will be removed .

By the way is anyone entering the Northwest Challenge held by the Rover Landers this weekend up here in B.C. ?

Door Panels

Hi Guys , the door panels are now ready but I am very sorry the "IRON GOAT" was not removed by my manufacturer . I have pointed this out to them and it HAS now been filled in , so the next batch will be without . Again sorry .

Hey Tony, glad to hear that they are done, do you have final specs (speaker size, pictures, etc..) & pricing?

Door Panels

Sorry I havent had the time to change anything yet , its still a 4" speaker but the ribbs have been removed and the pocket is now much deeper , makeing it more than a map pocket and in my opinion very functional . Here is a link to the page on the IG web site http://www.ig4x4.com/item71.htm , I havent figured out the post picture thing yet . The promotional price will apply to D90 members even after the time period is up , only you will have to intoduce yourselfs as members at the time of ordering .

Wow, the market is about to be flooded with door panel options.
These, Rovers North has their version coming out any time now and ours will be out this summer. Guess that market is going to be pretty crowded. I guess I'll scale down our initial order.

Just sent you an order Tony. Throw an Iron Goat decal in with them if you have any.

Mike,

What will the ECR panels look like and will you sell them mail order or only offer them if your truck is sent in?

Hopefully these panels address the weak screw areas
