Don't Mess with Texas

Have you ever wondered why they say that! It's because the Freakin Spiders will carry you away! lol. (oh and they are so big they stop and pose for you...this was a little guy)

That is a decent size spider, but those camel spiders take the cake.

Man. England spiders were the worst. None are poisonous; however, they breed like rabbits and are massive and put webs places you never thought they would. Every car in England has minimum 3 spiders living in the mirrors building webs that withstand 70+mph winds.

So far I like Texas except for the drivers and the absurd use of the frontage roads with "Turnaround".

Locally know as "The Badous Assus Spider" officially as I understand- "The Rabid Wolf Spider"...said to be harmless.

In Iraq, my Marines would bet on fights between the camel spiders and scorpions. The spiders almost always won!

I was a serious arachnaphobe. 10 days with NLX in Guatemala broke me down and rebuilt me like the $6mil man. The other day I had a one inch spider that I suddenly notice/felt running up my chest to my neck. I caught it my peripheral vision and brushed it off. Before my NLX trip, I would have had a seizure and passed out.

I stepped on a camel spider out here just the other day. Fast little bastards... When its 130 degrees out they like to run after you so they can sit in your shadow. Terrifying at first, until you realize what theyre after.

The scorpions here are kinda tiny...no bigger than that spider. I like the jumping spiders they are about as big as your thumb nail, but the weird thing after you've watched them for a while is you realize that they are watching you and they are thinking about it. Kinda cool and freaky.

Then you have the centipede that can kill a mouse. Caught this in the garage...it's 5 to 6 inches long! Then there's the stick bugs...they are every where. Hell and I don't even live in the country.

regarding the huntsman... one dropped on the 110 I was in on Fraser Island while I was puttering around through the woods. I'm not normally squeamish about arachnids/insects/etc but I nearly had a heart attack. I believe my quote was "WHAT THE F*** IS THAT?! ROLL UP THE WINDOWS! ROLL UP THE WINDOWS!"

Regarding the Huntsmen, I might still be a member of Danny's sorority on that one!
