Do you get the "jeep wave"?

I get the wave from Jeeps every day. I don't initiate it but I always return it. Anyone else?

It's because of your jeep-like paint color scheme. I'm telling you you need to paint that roof limestone for a proper series aesthetic. They think you are a jeep from off in the distance and then by the time you get close they already have it in their minds they are going to wave. Think of it as a cloaking device. Go for a more appropriate series-ish look and they won't know what to think. They will probably think you are delivering mail and will leave you alone.

I only respond if the jeep is modded, just like with discos and newer landies.

I think I am going to go with desert sand as the next color while maintaining the faded black hardtop and canvas and keeping the black wheels.

Once in a while, but only from modified Jeeps. Nada from the college kids and faux nature greenies driving their stock Wranglers...

In DC I get more attention from african cab drivers and parking lot attendants than any other single group. though I guess with all the one-way streets waving doesn't work so well.

I get nothing here in VA, no Jeeps or Land Rovers. Passed an NAS110 the other day and not even a glance my way?

In PA one time I had an old guy tell me how they used Series trucks in the oil fields of Iraq back in the 60's. Very cool that this old guy in nowhere PA had done something like that.

I don't get many waves but I do get a ton of "I like your JEEP" or "nice JEEP".. I always smile and reply "thanks, it's a Land Rover".

I get them from modded Jeeps/Toyotas/etc and I always wave to them if I see them first. More out of a respect that they use their truck to wheel and have fun with it. Most stock Jeep/Toyotas/Land Rover drivers have no idea what is coming towards them. Has to be a Scout, Bronco they think.

I do get a lot of Jeeps pulling up along side of me and telling me they want my truck. I never know how to respond to them telling me this.

I get waves from stock and mod jeeps all the time. Whether they initiate it or I do. I've tried to join their off road groups but most only allow jeeps. always very friendly though.
I even had a guy pull up next to me and offer a title for title trade on his new wrangler.

I get waves from the new Range Rover drivers, but I see them too late and end up not waving because they all seem to have dark tinted windows. They probably think I just snubbed them; oh well.

I get the wave and I'll give the wave BUT only to a Jeep that is an an older model and worked on. Newer models we mutually ignore each other. Funny thing, my wife gets smiles, waves , honks, and shut outs from everone when she drives the D90.
What I like best though are the smiles and waves from little kids - which happens all the time.

Yesterday driving from Sykesville to Elizabethtown PA I've got several THUMBS UP and V sign from teens driving Fast & Furious Cars.
Stopped for Fuel and couple were so into the D-90 ( maybe new Rover owners soon )

Yeah I get waves from Jeeps all the time, and always wave back if I notice - no sense being a hater. I usually only initiate a wave to a modded truck - there are some sweet jeep builds out there. And yeah kids dig em. I never got the whole panty treatment, sadly.
