DIY Winch Bumper

I'm thinking of building my own front winch bumper. Does anybody know where to source the plate for mounting the winch? Somebody has to mass produce these for the bumper fabricators. The rest should be a simple cut-n-weld project.

Winch mounting plates are readily available from several vendors. The cheapest I found are on amazon. They have multiple length plates for universal mount and Jeep CJ/YJ are flat plates. If you have a front mount winch (Warn 8274) or a Husky the bolt patterns are different than the more common winches.

The mounting plate is the easiest part of a winch bumper to make, all you need are the mounting bolt pattern & dimensions for the winch, which every mfg provides. If you can do the layout for the bumper, you can do it for the mounting plate.
I'd be extremely surprised if bumper mfg's buy ready made mounting plates.

I'll be interested in seeing your progress with this. I've always been a bit surprised there aren't many here running a very minimalist winch bumper setup
