Discovery info

I know this place is the worlds best source for information on Defenders.

Where is the best place to get information on my 1997 Discovery? I'm having a number of electrical problems and I am NOT good at running down wiring problems.

Thanks,

Mike

If you have thick skin, discoweb. Definitely a ton of real-world experience on there. You can go to LR Forums if you want a bunch of internet-experience.

Ask Bill Larson about his experience with the Discoweb members. Sorry about your truck Mike.

The search function on Discoweb is your friend. I dealt with many issues on mine simply by searching, most everything has been covered at some point.

Shop manual schematic ain't a bad place to start. Also, Google the issue. For example there is a bypass for powering the rear windows- permanent easy fix...

Is your problem where your Dome light only comes on when you open the door when the key is on? And the buzzer for neutral comes on when you are in Drive? These are things I have just learned to live with.

Ha ! Definitely living with those issues on our 1998 D1 ! So many issues just aren't worth the pain to try and repair

That's been passed for a bit.

And Dweb is no worse than asking for a military discount on here, it just regulates a bit less politely.

I think it depends on who you ask...most people I know on that forum only have positive things to say about their experience... weird

Thanks Jeff, I'll look for the ETM.

Well, a lot of things have accumulated over the years I've been ignoring them.

My wife is ticked off because I installed a battery cutoff. Why? Because the battery dies if not driven for 3 or 4 days. None of the windows work. Antiskid light stays on. The back door won't open (not electrical.)

The list goes on.

Mike
