Disco I Feeler

I'm trying to do a little research for a buddy of mine.

The vehicle is a '97 D1 that is Silver with Grey Leather. It was bought new by his mother in '97 and he (A Land Rover Technician that I work with) has maintained it for her from day 1. The vehicle has about 90k on it and is probably the cleanest D1 you will ever see. The back seat doesn't even look like it has ever been sat in! The only thing wrong with it is that the rear pinion seal is leaking a little right now. The body is excellent without any notable damage (a few little door dings it has accumulated over the years, but nothing more).

What do you guys think it is worth these days?

Thanks guys!

I just asked him. He said there is just a little bit of surface rust on the sill when you open the 5th door, but that is it. He can take pics, but it will take him a few days to get over to her house to take them. That's it huh? I was thinking $3-4k just because it is so clean and has been so well maintained, but I just wanted to give him a more informed opinion. Anyone else want to chime in?

Friend of mine almost bought a Land Cruiser from that outfit, it turned out to be nothing near as nice looking when he went to see it and walked away.

I've got a nice Tdi/R380 from a RHD Disco looking for a home, like say a one owner clean D-I.... anxious to see pics.

I just can't see paying more than 3K for a D1, even one that is super clean.

Scott- you meant for the D-I right?? And then xxxx for the Tdi- did I mention complete log book?
All joking aside, the cleanest D-Is w/ 60k or less are only actually selling for around $5k. At or near 100k, $3k tops, maybe $2.5k, but what do I know??

Thanks guys...I am just trying to help him figure out what he should even ask. If he decides to sell it I will let you all know since there seems to be some interest in it here.
