A friend of mine runs a land rover / range rover specialty repair shop. Based on his experience, they are capable of stopping anywhere, anytime, at any cost.

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.

I've never made a decision that had financial sense involving Land Rovers. If I had all the money I've ever spent on Land Rovers I would have enough to fix my Land Rovers... maybe.

48 hr x2 guys galv frame swap on a 3-4k truck that with a galv D2 chassis from RN seems like the job would cost easily three times the after value of the truck.

You'll still have the jenky chassis though


To be honest, I laughed when I was told we'd be carrying them, now we're backordered.


Like the Discovery 2 or not, it's the last legal solid axle Rover out there, and carries far less issues than the P38a.

Dealer did one when I was there. It was not bad. Two guys and a lift. Of course this was on a nearly new truck with a tweaked chassis from a wreck.

Given the number of used chassis available with no rust, it seems hard to justify a new one but logic and land rovers were never good bedfellows.
