Is that a T-charger in the third image? Otherwise, it looks a lot like the engine I put in my 67 Series IIA.

You are all wrong...... its a 2.0 Perkins Turbo Diesel. It will be going in my dads 1971 ser IIa 88 which will be all custom of course. 5speed, coil chassis, the above engine.. Will post pics when it gets started..

that is not the turbo in the 3rd pic. thats the bosch injector pump. ITs a very simple engine. similar to a Tdi but runs an overhead cam and is a 2.0L instead of a 2.5L

Looks great but I keep wondering if it can really be any simpler than the Rover 2.5L?

Which 5-speed and coils / axle do you plan to use?

It has a simpler valve train and no electronics which is nice. I will be runnings an LT-77s behind it along with Rangie axles and stock D-90 springs I think. The truck is very light so it will prob have a bit of a lift with the stockers but might put the LR HD ones in the front.. Power is about 88hp stock but with some sweaking will be 100+ which will be very nice for a series. I drove one with this setup and it was nice and peppy....

DAMIT! Too late I knew it was a Perkins! Nice pics Randy! Put a bigger turbo on it and you can get more then 100hp! Maybe something in the 60psi range? Off of a big rig!

Good Idea Mike... Once I get it runnin' I will start playing with it. Maybe an intercooler and some pump tweaking. Its the same pump as the tdi so its nice and easy. I also just found an automotive machine shop by me and the guy is a real diesel nut. he said to bring my truck back when its warmer and he will show me how to tune it for a bit more power..

Something I read on this site makes me think law enforcement. If so I guess he could just bust some heads and take the meth, no need for a lab!

Just kidding Randy, I'd sure like to see your truck sometime. Any chance you'll be at the Solihull Rally?

I always knew there was something funny about you. A cop that's got enough money to do all your projects. I promise I won't tell anyone if you cut me in for 30%

Sounds like a good combination. Will you also run the LT230 transfer case?

I'm curious how you plan to tweak the engine to get additional performance. I didn't realize diesels were tweakable in that fashion.
