Sorry, there are no Mini Diesels in Canada.

The PROBLEM is that in 2007, the NOX requirements were set well below what can be achieved by a diesel and well below European regulation limits. These very low levels require complex after-treatment systems. Because of this, "most companies are introducing more expensive cars, than base models.

The Mini Diesel does not have the NOX treatment systems, so can not be brought in.

Euro 4 levels are 0.25 g/km, Euro 5 is 0.18 g/km. 2007 North American regs are 0.07 g/mile (0.043 g/km). Europe has different regs for diesel and gasoline engines, North America does not.

Hmmm, I thought the Mini was announced for release late 07 in Canada and some have been spotted here in Quebec City actually (probably for winter tests or something as they were kind of incognito).
