Defenders in the Tour de France

We were at the final stage today on the Champs Elysee. In the promotional vehicle fleet before the arrival of the riders, there were 6 Defenders -- 3 110 station wagons, one 110 pick up with canvas top, and two yellow soft top 90s! All were brand new and painted up to promote various businesses and websites! I have pix of the 110s and will post when I get back from the EU.

Yeah, I want to see those! BTW, what a race that was, eh?! Pretty exciting with all the jersey changes.

Best Tour in years. Not sure what they were thinking on stage 17 letting Landis escape like that. I love watching an American beat the Frenchies at their own sport.

I'm pissed I missed most of the tour this year, I just got verizon Fios telivision and internet and when signing up for it i thought it said outdoor life... when all it said was outdoor apperently only cable tv providers have oln... no dish no fiber...

great racing all around though.. i wish ulrich and basso hadn't been kicked out though...

My cab driver this AM to the airport, told us how he drove Eddie Mercx a few days ago. He said Eddie made a call to the Phonak team manager the night Landis blew up in the Alps. Told him 'They only count the dead after the battle'. That night the manager had a talk with Floyd, and the result was the tour winning climb.

Interesting story...

More soon, back home tomorrow.
