Defender Sightings

Yesterday around five, I saw a white 95/97 defender with tan softtop on Washington Square East. The white with tan is a great combo.

I see a good amount of 90's around manhattan. The other one I see pretty frequently is an arles SW with roofrack in the Union Square area.

Was it running 36" swampers? if so, it was Jorge on the board. He lives right over thee...

I have been to several major cities around the globe, but strangely have not made it to NY yet??? I have heard though that 90s are all over the place in the city. 36" Swampers in Manhattan? That must be a sight to see

it is indeed a sight to see. and we do get a lot of looks. It might have been Jorge's but he doesn't have a tan top. I've seen a whole bunch all over. one day I saw 2 on the same block and a G4 Disco just up the road, then i walked two blocks over and saw a euro spec green 110. NYC has them all!

here is mine.

White with tan top? So that must be a badger top. I am trying to get my act together and finalize my color to place an order. I'll email Chris and see if he has a picture of the combo.

Daniel, your 90 looks great! I'll for sure be on the lookout for it.

Some others I've seen in the city:
White NAS 110 parked pretty frequently on Greene Street in SoHo (will get # next time I see it)
AA Yellow softtop with tints and bass bumping- I think it may have been the one for sale on here a while back. NYCdefender or something like that.
"Brooklyn Ironworks" white SW parked around Union Square

Its been tough having the 90 back in CT while I've been living in the city, but at least I get to see them all around Manhattan. NYC is somewhat of a Defender mecca

VKV- Go for the tan top! I It looks perfect and adds some nice contrast to the black and white.

If you see a green 90 with a tan badger top (recently dissected by would be vandals who a.- found nothing worth stealing in the car, and b.- couldn't figure out how to open the doors once inside and left via window again) around the city with a road raging colombian in the driver's seat and a brunette singing to the radio in the passenger's- that would be me and the boyfriend. (he's the road raging colombian).

oh yeah- and if you're in the city, stay away from harvey and his sports and classic shop on 73rd st. I'm not one to publicly exonerate someone- but page me and i'll spill all the juicy details.

Thanks for the photos and advice. Tan top looks really good. I have the Badger catalog in front of me (I stare at it almost everyday). Anyone seen or have opinions on the Sandlewood or Porsche Anthracite colors?

Here is a Pic of my wife's D90 with the badger top next to Ron's D90 . The top looks great with the monza red . Wish I had a better pic but I hardly ever take pics of my wife's D90 . Hope this helps in your decision , or buy TWO .Chris will love that option .

Jorge have you always had the tan top? I thought yours was black?

We need to do a NYC run sometime with 4 or 5 Defenders... you know, just drive around with dead deer on our racks and freak the vegans out.
