Those winery and country club roads are rough out there. Never know when you are going to need a second spare.

Formerly a 110

Spotted in the parking lot of the Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha, Tanzania. Yes, Carrie and I are here to climb Mt Kilimanjaro.

The driver was friendly and tried to answer my questions.

It started as a 110 Station Wagon. Pointing down to the frame "it was cut, then added. Then they built the body."

I asked what year? "Oh, it's about 10 years." Does it have the TD5? "No, 300Tdi."

It has two middle rows with 2 seats each. The fourth row has 3 seats. Nine total seats with a small baggage area behind the 4th row.

The roof has a pop up section from between the doors back to the small roof rack opens so you can stand on the seats to watch the animals during safaris. The roof protects you from the sun, rain and lions.

We've seen very few Defenders here. Seems 99% of the safari trucks are Toyotas with the same body modification.

Mike

It's not the Hella 90. I saw the Hella 90 in Little Silver, NJ two weeks ago. The new owner lives in Brooklyn but is retiring soon to the area, had a nice chat with him.

It was Wolf Fabrication's truck about 4 owners ago and he'd built/drilled a few things for it.

Either kids climbing it or someone afraid of standing on their tyre. I've never understood why some people are afraid to use their wheel as access to the overhead.

Damn John....that's a sweet truck! Looks Awesome! To put those 305's on it what all did you have to do lift/suspension wise?
Also what tires are those?

For sale thread on the truck lists all the specs.... i cringe when i see what I sold it for. Whats even crazier is i only paid 17500 for it and it was pretty well built like that already.
