Affirmative. Unfortunately, Defenders are still being seized at US ports. I settled for the releases of two more clients' Defenders just this past week. I'm also working on a State seizure case, the first that I've seen. Interestingly enough, the State authorities admit to being feed the case by interested federal agencies.

State seizures? Like people having registered trucks taken by the state?

Federal seizures have been limited to the ports.

Yikes. I will assume you aren't going to divulge too much but that seems like a bigger witch hunt than going after one specific importer's vehicles.

They, the Puma, are everywhere - NJ, CA, TX, MA, and VA in just this week's sightings alone. Just had a great conversation with an owner of a 2015 90 in Framingham, MA.

Pumas

Can I assume that these trucks are all "illegals" to the US? If so, how are they coming across the borders?

That is indeed a 2004 td5. Know the owner.

If tagged, registered, and insured in the home, proper countries, these vehicles may enter for a period of time not to exceed 1 year, just like every other, for instance, Canadian and Mexican car with the proper owner, who is a resident or citizen of that country. Will H cited the specifics just the other day. So, these Pumas if tagged in Mexico and driven by a permanent resident or citizen of MX, are on US soil 100% legally for that period of time not to exceed 1 year and may not to be sold when here.

Puma was the engine code name, but 2007+ is generally considered Puma.

No front louver vents, dash redesign, bonnet bump, etc.

It's a 2007-2016 Defender with a Ford 2.2 or 2.4 diesel "Puma" Tdci engine, recognizable by its bonnet bulge, different seats and non vented bulkhead.

Parked next to this French 110 in Cherbourg France. Had to make a quick stop to load up with Wine for the Ferry back to the UK. Mine has the black top, even had the same Dynapro MT's.
