Saw this on the way to my sons Teakwando Class in Greenwich and had to stop and talk to the dealership, Especially with all this accurate trash talk about defenders (of which I happen to have two). To any haters, or anyone curious want to take a guess at the asking price.
Hint: It will make anyone planing a restoration smile

That would give any $500 Disco with a Terra Firma lift and light bar bolted to its hood a run for its money! I'm not a purist by any stretch, but that is really a shame.

I'm no purist either. Anyone can spend their money any way thy want. But I don't like ugly things. And this thing is plain gross. Sad part is someone in Greenwich will buy it.

I didn't say for people that know to post answer, I was hoping to see some guesses.
Next you will tell people Darth Vader is Luke's father.

The guy at the dealership asked me if I thought the price was right. I said a little high

Eh most on the board are at least generally aware Himalaya prices are $150k-$250k. I think this one sold new for $195k to someone in the city and he did a few mods afterwards.

I sat in one of these trucks and I never knew a defender could feel so very little like a defender... The interior upgrades are impressively accommodating. However, they are ugly as hell and I can't help but laugh that after all that money it's still going to drive just like mine... Terrible!

Of all the things in the automotive world that $195k can buy you why the heck do people choose a D90? I assume that was a NAS. If you're going for the pimped out look with lightbars, why not a Raptor F150 or a Wrangler Unlimited? Is it the "rarity" that makes people want to pay that much for one?

I used to ask the same question. Then I realized that it doesn't make sense, because I don't think like a wealthy person. Because I'm not wealthy.

Asking for end-to-end rationality the discretionary spending of uber wealthy people is fruitless

Switching gears to a sighting of a nice ROW 90. Looks like a recent rehab. Very glossy and clean. Love the spare tire inspired "squished" ladder! ;-)

Kits beach today around 5pm. Vancouver, BC.
