Yeah, yeah. You just like them because they're better wheels. Stronger, modest, and field repairable. Did I leave anything out, you boost hater purist? ;-) lol

Nice work PS'ing out the tags, but don't understand the need. Could you enlighten? Is it a liability to post that info?

Out of respect of the shop owner, I passed this to the mods who removed the photo.
Guessing the owner of the NAS 110 is a forum member or buddies with a forum member. Don't know who, but to hid behind your attorney is a gutless and DB move in my book.

Seriously? What a waste of everyone's time. This is some kind of bullshit. If I was the shop I'd say come pick it up.

Agreed, that's weak!

It's a NAS Defender, not some missing Monet from the Elizabeth Stuart Gardner collection where somebody should be hiding its whereabouts. Get some perspective, it's just not that important of an item. Somebody has a '66 Ferrari GTO and they don't want people knowing where it is, I completely understand, but a f-ing Defender? come on.

Not sure how that is a gutless move...I would argue that posting nasty/aggressive comments on an internet forum is far more gutless.

The moderators of this forum happen to be great but internet forums in general are known to have a lack of respect for privacy and a lack of appreciation for the consequences of defamatory statements.

The owner of the truck obviously did not want the details of his truck on this forum while it was parked at a shop and I don't think that is unreasonable.

I did, reason not simply that it was posted, but posted with all the information about where I was parking at the time...then the poster was saying he was going to crawl under the chassis and match the vin number....which I found creepy.

Anyway, the guy is entitled to get a lawyer to remove content off of the web. I would have handled it differently as I don't think the poster was entitled to a message and the forum and domain registrar should have been notified.

That being said, there are no legal grounds in my opinion for removal however the owner is entitled to request that the photo be removed.

My opinion, not legal advice.

That folks who don't want pictures of their cars posted on a enthusiast's forum are generally trying to hide something from someone....

A tag or vin is one thing, but a picture?, come on....

I can only speak for myself and the only photos I have ever taken issue with were a series of detailed photos with cross streets showing where I was parking at the time.

Subsequently, there is a blog that has about ten photos of my truck parked away from my home and I could care less.

The only reason I chimed in is because asking for a photo to be removed (either through an attorney or directly) is not a big deal.

That the moderators and members of this forum are considerate enough to comply with his request shows why this forum is special.

A simple PM, email or phone call would have sufficed. But to use an attorney to initiate communication over something so benign speaks volumes about a person. Just another reminder we live in a litigious society. Suum cuique tribuere. Ben, if you feel so strongly about this, here is the truck stripped of identifying information. 1 of 500. With a little homework, perhaps you could pick up another client.
