If my Rover shop had a bar, I think I'd be at a bar every single day, as even my grocery store in Portland "NW Fred Meyer" has a real bar next to the deli counter!

Why couldn't/wouldn't they service them? Its not uncommon for non-US spec Land Rovers to come to the dealership. We just had a diesel LR2 in the shop not that long ago.

In Richmond we had two TD5 (I think they were 2004MY) 110's come in that were owned by the US military. They had tags that said 'On Base Use Only' on them, so naturally we took one to lunch

When I worked for alexandria, a customer came in with a rt hand drive manual v6 tdi lr3. Visiting the states and needed service. Every single lr certified tech declined to work on it because they did not know what to do on a diesel.
It took the dealer about a week to get the filters then they pawn it on me... They became amazed when I made it run. USA lr certification does not cover diesel models so dealer techs are afraid of them....unless they have diesel experience before hand.

I work for one of the biggest dealers in the country, and I don't think anyone is afraid to work on a newer non-NAS truck. Give them a RRC, and that's another story (of course depending on the tech)! We have access to all of the same information that techs in the UK have, we just don't have the special tools, which probably aren't needed. The warehouse in NJ keeps a lot of random diesel parts in stock, including 300 Tdi water pumps for under $100.

I don't have anything nice to say so let's just say our area is "unique" and leave it at that.

I appreciate that you can buy a hand gun and a gallon of milk at Fred Meyer.

And have a pint, some wine, watch the game and refill your growler all while doing your duty as a husband and "grocery shopping!" But I digress, while I'm way off topic! ;-)

I saw that white 110 from VT that was for sale (think it had an eBay listing) driving south on 91 in CT right near the entrance to the Merritt Parkway. My guess it was sold and going to a new home?
