Sighting NYC - Green d-90 SW snorkel & lift

I live in NYC in TriBeCa. I was walking around over the weekend and saw a guy driving his D-90 around SoHo and was wondering if anyone knew if he's on this site? I saw him while he was waiting at a light and by the time I walked over there the light had turned green...so didn't get to chat. Anyway, I'm looking to buy one soon and wanted to talk to him to see how it's been with it in the city, etc. I didn't have time to take a picture with my phone either, so I'm afraid all I can do is describe it:

Green lifted SW D-90 with snorkel and roof rack and NY plates...assuming there aren't too many with that description.

Also saw a Series III driving around yesterday by WTC which was pretty cool.

That was probably me! nice to meet you Josh. If you want to go get a beer let me know. I can take you for a spin in the truck so you can see how they are. I know this sounds very strange but I am almost 100% positive the Defender is the best vehicle for the city.... and off road

-Short wheelbase so finding parking is easy.

-Very tall so you can see the traffic pattern 10 cars ahead of you (i swerve through traffic better than any car because i can tell which lane is going to get clogged up which idiot is turning in the wrong lane).

-large windows so you can see everything that is going on.

-Potholes are a joke. You can blast right through them.

-Rack helps when the women want you to bring a dresser home from the city.

I am going upstate this weekend to put the soft top on, but i should be free next week if you want to check out the truck.

Haha yeah I'll buy one eventually...still figuring stuff out. Dan, is yours a POE? Must be nice to have somewhere to store all that stuff. My parents moved down to NC when I was in college and my oldest brother would kill me if I tried keeping a rack at his house.

I wonder if the Series I saw the other day down by my office at WTC was Fruitpunch's? He has a 66 IIa 88 in NYC.

Given the current state of the roads in NYC I think a Baja Pre-runner truck is the best car for nyc. Seriously, I ride my dirt bike around in NYC and I have to set the shocks to full soft because the holes in teh road are so bad

HAHA Yup, and I live in the historical part that has all cobble stone roads which are a mess, because a bunch the patchwork the city does on underground pipes just creates huge asphalt speed bumps when they cover it up. My apt looks all the way up Greene Street and I can't ride my road bike (Cannondale Six13) around here at all.

New York, New York. Named twice, paved once. I ride a bunch of different bikes here, but you need to know which streets to stay away from. my single speed doesn't handle any bumps at all. Though I ride my Brooklyn Machine Works downhill bike on the crazy streets.

I do have a POE top. They are almost impossibly to come by. you can build one if you want. some guys on here have built them before, but to get an original is near impossible.
