That article doesn't go into detail but I've read elsewhere Dylan wrote just the melody and OCMS wrote the verses. My musical vocabulary isn't great so I hope I'm saying that right. The OCMS version was incredibly popular while was in college so most people my age were luckily exposed to the original.

Anyways back to sightings. My buddy saw this in the Destin area earlier this week. I wanna say it was for sale on here a couple months ago

It's got a sick Ashcroft (I believe) underdrive that just allows it to crawl at a snails pace offroad. Very cool, hopefully the new owner knows how to work the bells & whistles.

Love that truck. Was that a recent pic? gonzanc bought that truck, and I thought he had been selling off a ton of the stuff that came with it.

Yep. Either this past weekend or earlier this week. I couldn't imagine selling stuff off that truck, I think it's about perfect as-is

I think he was seeing what he could get for the wheels/tires, but I don't believe he was selling anything else off the truck.

Last he said was he was cleaning up the interior. The sliders in gonza's for sale post aren't off Kip's old truck.

He had listed a ton of stuff, so it was hard to tell if it was coming from the truck itself or if they were surplus. There were ARB switches and stuff, gauges, Badger top, etc.

So random. I just saw an Arles Blue D90, parked in the same spot that Andre usually parks his Arles truck...but it wasn't Andre's. 1995 SW 188/500 with a rack.

Here are more pics of it. It looks like it just sold a month ago out of San Jose, CA for $30k-ish. I remember this popping up recently, but I thought it was more than a month ago.

The song has achieved that level of infamy for both OCMS in the indie-folk realm, and Darius Rucker in the popular-country realm where every fan thinks that the first version they heard is the original.

I had heard that Bob Dylan had written it, but I've never heard him sing it...I'll have to track that one down.

Just the chorus. Ketch Secor of OCMS wrote the verses

Dylan version, like most of his singing, sucks. OCMS is an awesome group live. It's one of the best concerts I've ever been to, besides some Widespread Panic shows back in the 90's!

Rovers and Phish?

Went rafting with friends yesterday and caught this on the back of my friend Dani's Phish shirt. Was very excited- friends were not.

I then had to correct one of the guys at the canoe shop that it was a Land ROVER, not a Land Cruiser.

The bulkhead and frame are super clean. I spent hours crawling around the truck with the owner and was surprised we couldn't find any rust. The body is original and straight. California truck since new and was owned by a gentlemen who works for Land Rover. I don't know the exact story, but apparently the original owner and his father were writers for Land Rover who documented trips across Africa in series Rovers.

I'm always amazed at the condition of the metal on some of the older rigs like this - especially with the lack of good paint coverage! The 90/110 trucks will pick up rust and corrosion if you sneeze on them, and the series trucks have been around forever, with the majority being rode extremely hard and put up wet...Literally!! Anyone know what LR started doing (or not doing) differently to the metal in the 80's/90's??

I think it depends on where you live or wheres the truck located. In NYC it's always humid. The UK is always damp. However, if you're in Arizona, it's mostly dry and it would take a longer time to rust. Would someone correct me of I'm wrong.
