I went from an '08 LR3 to my '85 V8 Ninety as DD. I have A/C which helps. Pretty short commute but it's been fine. Dynamat & new door seals are your friend!

I have driven either a series or ROW 110 approx 20 miles each way to and from work the past four Years. Truly not a big deal. Did start buying 15w-40 and 90 wt. in five gallon jugs. It kind of just becomes who you are.

I DD'rd mine for a year. Only 10 mile commute. But when it is the original 3.5l.......

Once I get it back together with the 300, I'll be back to the daily trips in it.

Yep, DD my 83 110 every day since the rebuild ~20mi/day. No drama. Since the rebuild it's just been fuel, oil, filters and a big ol grin for the past 20k.

Daily drove my 110 for a couple years with the 2.5 NA. No issues - just slow!

To answer your question, just check oil at every gas fill up. Also, make sure your trans and transfer case are topped off... They tend to leak and a lot of POs neglect to fill.

My '86 D90 2.5 NA MoD isn't where I work so never had opportunity to use for DD. It usually sits for a few months, then we check the oil and jump in for 1000+ mile adventures.

Since March 2013 we've put 33,000 miles and it's never stranded us.

I started DD'ing a 90 in 1998. I've own three (ST, POE and SW) I'm in the 12th year with the SW and I average 10-12k miles/year. Feels I no longer have a reference to other vehicles. The family vehicle is a suburban but we still use the 90 the majority of the time unless we are going on a trip or scattering in different directions.

Same here. The 110 is our primary daily family vehicle with suburban backup. Mine does a lot better driven daily - but agree with other posts - you have to be vigilant staying ahead of maintenance. I take it in once a year and have the local shop go through everything. No issues

AI drove my 110 for 2 years as a DD. Like some of the other said good door seals and dynamat, make a HUGE difference. Also adding the Webasto heater and seat heaters. I have drive the 90 ST since about April as my DD. now that the weather is changing, I will go back to the 110 and the LR3. No problem at all as a DD....

12+ years with NAS D90 as our daily driver - other than a fuel pump, ignition switch, and regular maintenance it's been very reliable. As others have said, they like to be driven.

I am considering going this route, but it would mean selling my truck to free up cash for a 110 build...leaning towards doing it. There are definitely cheaper addictions, but I'm definitely addicted.

In nuts but I've used the following as daily drivers

Lightweight for 2 years....with no heat....that sucked in the winter

109 ex mod 3 years was a great daily driver

Series IIa 109 ambulance 1 year was a great daily driver excellent in the winter.

110 200tdi 5 door was my wife's for over a year and trouble free.

101GS very poor idea......

73 Shorland APC was great for a year....hard parking abd changing lanes with no rear ward or side visibility but people tended to move out of I'm the way

These trucks like to be used. DD duties are good for them
