Defender 110 or 90

Hi everyone,
Nice to see all of you Defender fans in one place,
I am new here, just signed up, please be gentle.

I need a suggestion
I am about to buy myself a very nice Defender for christmas. But i am in doubt between a 90 and a 110. Both are in good shape with a 300 tdi engine.
The 110 is a country station wagon with 9 seats and air/con. The 90 is a 6 seater and has a winch bumper and a superwinch in it.

How does it sound? I am not after hard off roading, mostly greenlaning.

Man that's wide open. Both rigs are more than adequate for greenlaning and both will do much harder stuff even in stock form. The way I see it is, it's a question of how much stuff and how many people do you want to be able to take with you.

Defender 110 or 90

I own both a 110 and a 90. The 110 has a better ride and fits more people/stuff and forward facing 2nd row seating. The 90 is easier to park and a bit more stylish in my opinion. I love both of mine so you'll have to weigh up the options.

Also due to a new addition to the family if I could only have one it'd be the 110

I am having a new addition on my family too, so i was a bit biased for the 110. Besides, i have ridden a 110 200tdi for years, for work ,so to me is like a old friend.

Based on the info you have provided, I recommend the 90. Basically, a shorter wheelbase will be better suited to greenlaning.

That said, if you will ever need to carry more people/stuff, get the 110. You will likely soon mod the 90, and you won't get your money back if you need to swap to a 110 later on.

Either way, have a mechanic look any prospective purchase over.

Edit: Just saw your response. Based on that, get the 110.

I was having the same debate myself but decided I am after a 110 due to having a family.
Even though this is a second car for me I still need the ability to take everyone.

Get both. Sell the one you don't like. You'll get your money back.

Agreed, don't kid yourself...if you get one, you'll be thinking about the other.

Thank you, i would love that but budget is limited.
I would rather buy one and add accessories with the rest of the money

X2, the 110 will be much better with wife/kids/coolers/etc. Very little room in the 90 with more than 2 people.

X2, I have kids so I really want a 110, but I can't convince myself that getting rid of the 90 makes sense.
