Was it a fully guided hunt or did you do a "self guided" hunt? Assuming you didn't drive across CONUS with a trailer full of horses and pack animals.

Always a big fan of help from our four legged friends!

Fully guided. In Wyoming as a non resident you can't hunt many areas without a guide (designated wilderness). I love horse back based hunts.

Did not know that about Wyoming. Interesting. So the area I primarily hunt in Idaho is one of the largest "wilderness" areas in the lower 48 and we dont have silly residency/guide laws. I tend to think its more about revenue for the outfitters who push that then about the "safety" of the peoples. And dont be fooled, the Clinton administration designated a lot of western land into his so called roadless "wilderness" when in fact people like my great great great grandfather to grandfather homesteaded and had ranches/roads/airstrips in a lot of these areas. Clinton used the Wilderness tag to stop/prevent any future development or use. No matter, looks like you had a blast and you got a mighty fine animal to boot. Jealous as I get to spend this season afield and with a gun, but not hunting elk.

Oh, and were they still bugling?

Very nice deer jerky?

Doug, that's what I make my blind out of, just get some dead palmetto fronds and jab the stobs in the ground in a circle out in the field and sit in the middle. Works like a charm!

Got my Bear hide back from the Taxidermist yesterday. On the garage wall it goes. It is actually lighter brown than how it looks in the picture.
